When people find out we own a natural skincare company, the first question they usually ask is ‘what is the best skin oil for me’? Of course, we’re only too glad to help, and always begin by discussing the person’s needs, skin type and any concerns they have in regards to their skin.

You see, there are a vast range of skin oils on the market, from pure, plant-powered blended oils like those in our own range, through to inferior formulas which are bulked out with cheap, inactive ingredients. There are also many skin types, skin issues and ailments, as well as allergens to take into account.  That’s why it’s important to analyse the ingredients, their benefits, any additives and what therapeutic value you can expect to gain from using that particular oil on your skin, before you go ahead and apply anything.

Within the Cannabella range, there are four skin oil treatments, each with a different – though in some instances overlapping – purpose and suitability. The first and simplest question is ‘where are you looking to apply your skin oil’? We all get dry skin from time to time, but in winter especially, dry skin can become painful, cracked and peeling. It doesn’t feel great, it doesn’t look great, and it can be surprisingly difficult to treat.

Traditionally you would treat extremely dry and cracked skin with a cracked skin balm, an oil-based moisturiser or even lanolin or Sorbolene. Many commercial creams for extremely dry, cracked skin are full of chemical ingredients, including parabens.
